My story
I started my career as a professional in corporate America, where I honed my skills in various administrative and financial roles within the Equity Capital Markets department of a mid-sized brokerage firm. Eventually, I transitioned to Human Resources, assuming the role of VP of Payroll and Compensation.
After more than a decade in corporate America and not feeling fulfilled in my role, I decided to take a sabbatical to explore other career options. During this time, I became more invested in my yoga practice at a local studio. As my dedication grew, I became the Studio Manager, playing a pivotal role in elevating the studio from a small business to a thriving hub of wellness and community.
In addition to managerial responsibilities, I had the privilege of contributing to the development and successful launch of a 200-hour Yoga Teacher Training program. This allowed me to share my passion for yoga with others, empowering them to deepen their practice and pursue their own journey of self-discovery.
While actively involved at the studio, I also took part in a meaningful initiative: the creation and service on the board of a non-profit organization dedicated to making yoga accessible to underserved communities.
Through this endeavor, I had the opportunity to bring the transformative power of yoga to those who may not have otherwise had access to it, promoting wellness and healing in diverse and inclusive spaces. These experiences have shaped my path and ignited a profound passion for holistic well-being and personal growth, ultimately leading me to pursue a career dedicated to helping others on their own transformative journeys.
I embarked on a new chapter by pursuing a Master’s degree in Marriage and Family Therapy, driven by my enduring fascination with human relationships and the profound influence we have on one another, especially within family systems. Following graduation, I began working as a Clinician at a Community Mental Health Clinic in a program for women. The program was designed to address the barriers women often face when seeking treatment, such as limited access to transportation and childcare. In this role, I provided individual outpatient therapy, facilitated weekly group therapy sessions, and led Intensive Outpatient and Partial Hospitalization programs tailored for women with co-occurring disorders. During my tenure at the clinic, my focus shifted towards understanding the impact of trauma on women and, more importantly, exploring pathways to healing. In 2014, I pursued training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR), an evidence-based treatment for trauma. This training further fueled my passion for supporting women on their healing journeys. Subsequently, I transitioned into private practice, specializing in working with women who have experienced trauma.
Throughout my post-graduate education, my primary focus has been on deepening my understanding of how trauma influences development and how it manifests in present-day relationships and overall functioning. My commitment to ongoing learning and professional development drives me to continually expand my knowledge base, empowering me to provide the most effective and compassionate care for my clients and consultees.
